 The softness of this natural silk has to be felt to be believed. Made from the finest inner silk threads, this scarf is the embodiment of ethics meets aesthetics.

Known as Eri or Peace silk, it is a non mulberry type silk. This silk is produced by the Eri silkworm (Philosamia ricini) which feeds mainly on Castor but also Sweet potato,Tapioca and Papaya. The silk thread is drawn without killing the worm inside the cocoon. The cocoons are gathered after the moth emerges.

The silk threads are made up of even fibres which have been broken by the moth and therefore cannot be reeled making this process very labour intensive . Eri is one of the most eco-friendly silks as it requires less land than other varieties.
